Gardai have reopened an investigation after a man died a month after being involved in a road collision in West Donegal.
Padraig McFadden, died at the weekend following the crash in Gaoth Dobhair on October 29th.
He was injured when his car collided with a lorry in the townland of Carrickboyle.
At the time Gardai did not believe the collision was serious.
However further investigations were carried out on the stretch of road yesterday following the death of the man.
A Garda spokesman confirmed: “A serious road traffic collision occured on 29th October, 2013 and the injured man has since passed away so it will be reclassified as a Fatal Road Traffic Collision and the matter is under investigation.”
The dead man was 79 and was from the Knockfolla/Brinaleck area.
He had returned there several years ago after spending many years in Glasgow.
Mr McFadden was laid to rest on Monday.
