Donegal County Council gritters were dispatched early this Monday afternoon as another cold night lies ahead for the north west.
All main roads were gritted from 3pm this afternoon.
Temperatures will not dip to the same freezing levels as Sunday night, but it will remain chilly with lows of 1 to 3degrees Celsius tonight.
Met Eireann forecasters say: “Tonight will be mainly dry with clear spells, becoming cloudy in the west later with outbreaks of rain in Donegal by dawn. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 3 degrees with a light to moderate southeast wind.”
“Tomorrow outbreaks of rain in the west will slowly spread eastwards. Drier, brighter conditions following in to the west for the afternoon. Highest temperatures of between 7 and 9 degrees with moderate southeast winds veering southerly for a time.”
