A Business student at the LYIT has displayed his entrepreneurial skills after setting up an exciting new business called Thrifty Prints. 
Declan Bourke from Stranorlar is a mature student that is currently studying for a Honours degree in Business at the LYIT.
The innovative entrepreneur seen a gap in the market of print and design after he realised the hazards involved for small businesses to distribute business cards and leaflets.
Declan stumbled on the problem as he prepared a business proposal he had to submit as part of his course at college.
He quickly discovered that small businesses were not catered for at all in the print and design market in terms of order size and pricing. 
There was a distinct lack of affordable options available to potential clients and there was also an inadequate variety of order amounts.
During further research it became evident to Declan that local printing companies in Donegal have little presence online.
His business idea and company Thrifty Prints was born and a fantastic solution to a costly yet necessary process for small businesses to market their business through business cards or the promotion of events through leaflets was found.
No longer does the process need to be as expensive for customers nor do the options available to them need to be so limited.
