Gardai are investigating reports of an attempted child abduction earlier today in Glenties.
It is understood there was an incident in which a man attempted to entice a child into a car at about 3.30pm.
The incident happened in an alleyway in the centre of the town.
The alleged abduction attempt was reported to Gardai.
Gardai have carried out a number of enquiries in an effort to find out exactly what happened.
It is understood the child was not hurt during the incident and managed to get away.
Gardai are due to examine CCTV from local businesses as part of their investigation into the incident.
