ATHLETICS NEWS: ROSSES NOVICE TEAM TRAVEL TO WATERFORD FOR THE ALL-IRELANDS

The western regional 1st year Sports hall athletics finals was held in the gym at the Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair and after an exciting morning of indoor athletics, Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair emerged as winners of the girls competition and Pobaoscoil na Rosann took the honours in the boys competition.

Individuals to stand out were Orlaith Winters, Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair, the only athlete to two individual events and Kyle Macadangdang, Pobalscoil na Rosann who won the vertical jump with a very impressive 61cm.

Both teams now move forward to the county finals to be held in Ionad Spoirt na Rosann, Dungloe at the beginning of January.

Best of luck to our ladies Novice team and Ferdia Doherty who travel to the All Irelands in Waterford this weekend.

All have been putting a huge effort over the past few months and Sunday will be a great experience for all.

Adult training continues at the Industrial Estate, Gweedore on Wednesdays at 7pm. These are speed endurance sessions and now is the time to get down and started into them. New members always welcome with great turnouts every week.

Training for athletes born 2003 and older who are preparing for the Ulster Indoors will commence on 8th January. Sportshall will continue in the New Year.

Note; the Friday 20th December – Rosses AC Adult presentation night in Caislean Oir starting at 9:30pm.

All club members and athletes are encouraged to come along. Tickets 10 euro are available from Committee member.
