MET Eireann has issued a Yellow Status warning for Donegal on Saturday, with damaging winds and gusts of more than 110kn/hr, forecasters have said.
A low pressure from the Atlantic will make the second last shopping Saturday before Christmas a battle against the elements.
“Saturday will be a wet and windy day everywhere as the band of rain continues to spread eastwards,” said forecaster Evelyn Cusack.
“There will be further heavy falls throughout the day and it will be very windy and gusty with southwesterly winds reaching gale force at times.
“Some severe and damaging gusts will also develop, with gusts of 90 to 110 km/h expected. Highest temperatures will range from 9 to 11 degrees.”
Met Eireann has also issued a marine Orange Warning.
