Rosses Athletics News
There were some great performances with our athletes who made the long journey to the All Ireland Novice and Juvenile uneven age groups in Waterford at the weekend.
Ferdia Doherty started the day off with a great run in the u-11 boys when he was the 4th counter on the Donegal team who missed out on the medal places.
Ferdia has put in a huge effort this year and his efforts were rewarded on Sunday with an excellent run.
In the ladies Novices event the ladies team ran a great race in tough conditions on a tough course.
Sarah Mulholland led the team home, closely followed by Emer McGee, Noreen McGee and Cathy Breslin. Unfortunately Helen McCready suffered an ankle injury before the start and we all wish her a speedy recovery.
This was a great experience for all involved and everybody will come back all the stronger and wiser for it.
For many of the ladies they have the Masters to look forward to in the New Year.
Adult training continues at the Industrial Estate, Gweedore on Wednesdays at 7pm.
These are speed endurance sessions and now is the time to get down and started into them.
New members always welcome with great turnouts every week.
Training for athletes born 2003 and older who are preparing for the Ulster Indoors will commence on 8th January.
Sportshall will continue in the New Year.
