Ramelton young gun Shaun Duffy took the honours in the annual Christmas Hamper outing last Saturday in Otway.
In wet and windy, testing conditions, Shaun overcame the elements to return a winning score of 45 pts.
Just one point back on 44 was not so young Noel Kernan (but young at heart), with the gross going to Sidney Anderson, and Denis Friel taking 3rd spot.
The nines went to John McClafferty and Paul Murray, and the prize-giving took place after a welcome bowl or two of the famous ‘Caddie stew’, when numerous additional prizes were awarded to the brave poor souls who finished their round, and to one or two who didn’t.
The following day was the final turkey scramble of 2013, when that man again Noel Kernan was carried over the winning line by team-mates Dan Canning and Charlie Patton, with a very impressive winning score of ten under par.
Congratulations to all winners, and remember we have one last 2013 scramble this Sunday, names in by 11.30 for a 12 noon tee-off!
