THERE are more power cuts in Co Donegal this evening as a new storm cut its way across the county.
Met Eireann is warning that winds could gust up to 120km/hr before midnight.
The new storm – given an Orange Alert status – has already cut off power to 244 homes in the Kilcar area. 14 homes are without power in Dunfanaghy.
ESB networks says emergency crews are battling through the elements to restore power but doesn’t know at this stage when homes will be reconnected.
Driving conditions on the roads are very very poor with Gardaí repeating their warning to motorists to slow down – and be patient.
Tonight’s storm won’t be the last, with another storm being predicted for next Monday which could spark another Red Alert from Met Eireann.
