We asked people across Donegal to take pictures of their towns and villages today as the county experiences its first day of real lockdown during the Covid 19 crisis.

People out walking within a two kilometre distance from their homes kindly sent us in some stark pictures.

They show deserted streets and car parks from Buncrana to Glenties.

Despite the eerie images of deserted towns and villages, it shows that the vast majority of us are in this together for the better good.

Our towns and villages may be in lockdown today but they will be bustling with the sound of happy shoppers and people going about their business once again in the not too distant future.

Stay safe everyone.

If you have a picture of your town or village today please send it to info@donegaldaily.com
