THE pensioner robbed in her home near Kerrykeel at the weekend had been fighting cancer.
Heike Muller has been living outside the village since moving there more than 20 years ago from her native Germany.
She is a valued member of the local community.
Shocked friends and neighbours say the much-loved 75-year-old – known for her healing hands – has been left extremely upset by the attack.
They are outraged after three men pushed her to the ground and shook her over and over again demanding money.
They three men – all with local accents – left empty-handed as Mrs Muller didn’t have any money at her home last Saturday night.
“She has been recovering from cancer and to attack her in this way is sickening,” said one friend last night.
Gardai in Milford are investigating the case.
Inspector Michael Harrison has thanked the local community for the calls received in the case.
He described the attack as “evil.”
An 88-year-old woman was also robbed in Glengad on Saturday night. She came home from Mass to find her house ransacked.
