GAA: ST EUNAN’S GAA CLUB NEWS

St Eunan's GAA logoThe dates for the two semi finals and county final of Scór Sinsir were decided at a recent meeting of coiste scór Dhún na nGall. The first semi final will take place in Gleann Fhinne on Friday 15th February at 7.30pm and the second semi final will be held in Burt on Saturday 16th February at 7.30pm.

The county final of Scór Sinsir will be held in Gleann tSúilí on Friday 22nd February. Anyone interested in taking part on behalf of the club are asked to contact Ofifigeach Chultúrtha & Teanga, Fergus McGee on 086 854 4445.

The U6/U8 hurling and camogie has started again in the LYIT Friday’s at 6:30pm to 7:45pm. The U10 hurlers are in the Aura Wed at 7pm to 8pm. The U10/U12 camogie training has resumed again in the convent gym Wednesdays 7pm to 8pm. The U12 hurlers have resumed in the Aura at 7pm to 8pm Thursday’s. All new players welcome. Cost €3 per session.

U12 Girls football is also up and running again between 6pm and 7pm in the Convent Gym. New members welcome.

Training for the U14 girl’s football team for 2013 has started in the Game On indoor Astro Turf Centre at Lisnennan (Old Unifi Plant) on Wednesday’s at 6pm sharp (please arrive 10 mins early). This is open to all girls born in 1999 & 2000. The indoor sessions will run for 7 weeks until the end of Feb and each session will cost €3 per person.

Anyone that wants to take part in “Last Person Standing” Fundraiser, contact Paul McGovern asap as it will start in less than 2 weeks (Allianz Leagues) and only fully paid up people will be allowed to take part. Entry fee is €10. Rules on club Facebook page.

Managers are asked to contact Paul McGovern asap to book their slots on the training pitch for 2013, with slots filling up fast. The Minor Board will be holding a meeting in the next two weeks to arrange hand over of gear and to get a list of new equipment needed for new season, all team managers are asked to attend. Details in a few days.

Congratulations to our members that were part of the Coláiste Ailigh team that claimed All-Ireland success last week and to Clodagh Brennan who was named Basketball player of the year at the Donegal Sports Awards last Friday.

This year’s Senior Board Dinner Dance will take place in the Mt. Errigal Hotel on Friday, March 8th. Tickets will be on sale shortly.

The Big Fight Night, Lord of the Rings 4 was launched last week and will take place on Friday, March 15th in the Mt. Errigal Hotel. Tickets are now available for a night not to be missed as St. Eunan’s pit their boxing skills against the Rugby club.

There were 4 winners that matched 3 numbers in this week’s Lotto draw and they win €25 each. The numbers drawn were: 8-9-18-24. Sinead Halligan, Coalisland, Co. Tyrone (Adrian); Bridget Lyons, Kiltoy; Gareth McGlynn, Rockhill and Rosemary Hannigan, Magherennan (all card).
