The first salmon of 2014 was landed this afternoon at 2.30 by Ballyshannon angler Eoin McManus.
Eoin landed the 8lbs fish on a Rapalla from the telegraph pole at Lennox’s Bridge.
Eoin’s fishing buddy Joe Broderick caught the first salmon of 2003.
The water is still high at just a shade under 1 metre but today was almost totally dry and mild and the river should start to slowly drop at last.
