“Lucky in love and lucky 2013,” said Elizabeth O’Donnell as she posed for the cameras at the launch of Hegartys.ie new online wedding gift service.

The Junk Kouture founder is saying “I do” this year and she is adamant that 13 will be her lucky number.

“Thousands of couples will get married in 2013 and all the talk of superstition over the number 13 is rubbish! In fact I think it will be lucky for us” she said.

Elizabeth founded Junk Kouture in association with the European Recycling Platform in 2010, where students from around Ireland are challenged to create high-end wearable fashion from everyday junk, which would normally find its way into the bin.

The entries that come in are so creative. Last year Chloe Chan from Errigal College, Letterkenny created a wedding dress out of little more than paper doilies and a table cloth, which caught Elizabeth’s eye and may have given her a bit of inspiration for her own dress but she is keeping the details under wraps for now! The dress is modelled here by student Camino Valdivia at the launch of the new online wedding gift service by luxury home interiors store Hegartys.ie

Launching the new online wedding gift service for Hegartys.ie, Elizabeth admitted that her Junk Kouture to-do list is never ending so she’s delighted that one item has been taken off her mind in the process of organising her wedding.

The new online gift list service allows couples to create their wedding gift list online, share it with their guests who can then buy desired items on the gift list, from the comfort of their couch or instore.

“Increasingly people are now giving gifts instead of money, as it’s more personal. Our new online gift list service means couples can help their guests choose the perfect gift for them,” said Matthew Gleeson, Manager of Buncrana-based Hegarty’s Home Interiors.

Couples create their gift list from a selection of giftware, kitchenware, carpets, furniture, audio-visual products, cutlery, crystal, pottery, and a wide range of tops brands such as Stellar, Prestige, Denby, Waterford, Genesis, Kenwood, and Sony.

Everything can be done entirely online from the comfort of your own home, or you can avail of their personal shopper service in-store if you would like help compiling your list.
