A community alert has been issued in the Ardara, Glenties and Killybegs area following reports that a group of men have been calling to house offering power washing and painting services. 
Gardai have issued an alert to the public to be on the lookout for a white van offering such services.
Gardai feel the service may be a cover for a gang who are building up security information on houses with a view to committing burglaries in the area.
Community groups in the area are planning a meeting with Gardai in the coming days.
