Ollie Horgan has re-signed American Pat McCann for the new season which kicks-off in less than six weeks time when Finn Harps host Waterford United on the 7th of March. harps-mccann-380x460

McCann was hugely impressive when he signed midway through last season and scored two goals in 12 appearances for Harps.

He had attended trials with UCD and Bohemians and both sides were interested in acquiring the services of the talented American.

However after weighing up his options he decided that Harps would be the best option for him after enjoying his spell with the club last season.

McCann told the official Finn Harps FC website that he’s delighted to be back at the club.

McCann said, “I am absolutley delighted to have signed for the coming season and It was great to get such a warm welcome to the club.

“The people in Donegal are great and the Harps fans are all passionate about their club and those things certainly played a part in my decision to re-join the club.”

“The manager came across as a very driven and hardworking man who will stop at nothing to make sure we all reach our potential.

“Its clear from talking to him that we are going to have a huge emphasis on the right preparation this season along with an incredible work ethic at all times on the pitch.

Horgan has also released three players who had been training with the squad over the last number of weeks.

Gary Merritt, Davitt Walsh and Brian McVeigh have all been informed that they won’t be in Horgan’s plans for the season ahead.

It is also believed that Harps are close to capturing striker Carel Tiofack from Limerick.

The former Ipswich Town trainee is believed to be close to securing terms with the club.

His signing is expected to be officially announced later this week.
