This February there will be a chance to see three amazing acts screened LIVE right to Century Cinemas Letterkenny, whether you love opera, ballet or orchestras we have them all. 
For our first show on Sunday the 2nd of February at 3pm we have Live from the Bolshoi Ballet: Lost Illusions.
It tells the story of Lucien, a young provincial and budding composer, who sets out to conquer the Parisian scene in search of glory.
His success soon blinds him, and he betrays his friends and his love.
Lost Illusions is a sumptuous new ballet, created in Moscow in 2011 by Alexei Ratmansky with dramaturgical advice by French actor, writer and director Guillaume Gallienne.
This stylised adaptation of Honore de Balzac’s novel features thwarted love, ambition and disillusionment, with 19th century Paris as its backdrop.
On Saturday 08 February at 6pm comes Live from the Met in New York the Opera: Rusalka (Dvorak).
Renée Fleming sings her first Live in HD performance of one of her signature roles, the lovelorn mermaid Rusalka, in Dvořák’s sumptuously melodic opera.
Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts a cast that also includes Piotr Beczala as the handsome Prince Rusalka who yearns to love; Dolora Zajick as the cackling swamp witch Ježibaba; Emily Magee as the Foreign Princess, Rusalka’s rival; and John Relyea as Rusalka’s father, the Water Sprite.
Finally on Friday 28 February at 6:30pm we have the Berlin Philharmonic: St John Passion.
After the extraordinary performances of Bach’s St. Matthew Passion in Berlin in April 2010.
The collaboration of Sir Simon Rattle and opera director Peter Sellars is repeated in what promises to be an equally memorable, theatrically-enhanced performance of this towering work of musical devotion.
The orchestra will be joined by the Berlin Radio choir, and an international cast of magnificent vocal soloists for what promises to be a deeply moving musical experience.
