Hi folks, I hope you didn’t miss me too much last week. :) FightingFitForEwings-logo

I think I must be jinxed when it comes to special occasions.

As some of you may remember, I spent Christmas Day in hospital back in 2011 and this year I very nearly spent my 28th birthday doing the same thing.

My hip felt strange after training on Wednesday the 22nd ( the day before my birthday), so I decided to pay my doctor a visit.

She was a little worried after examining me so she decided to send me to A&E for an x-ray.

Thankfully the doctors were satisfied that there was no infection which is always my main concern. They did however find quite a bit of scar tissue which is a little disappointing.

The thing with scar tissue is that it cannot simply be removed as it will always come back.

On the plus side I did have a bit of an ego boost while I was there which is always nice!

Three separate doctors viewed my x-ray and all were suitably impressed that I could use my leg at all considering the extent of the damage.

The main consultant admitted he had never seen anything like it before in all his years of residency.

I was secretly delighted of course. Especially after I told them that I train five days a week.

One of them looked at me, then back at my x-ray, then back at me. Haha I was like ‘ yes that’s right, I’m awesome’ ;)

I know I am making light of a situation that could have ended horribly but it is how I have always dealt with set backs.

Find the positive moment and remember that part instead of concentrating on the negative.

Although initially they wanted to admit me to do further tests, they reconsidered after my bloods came back clear which meant my birthday celebrations went ahead.

Brilliant at the time, horrifying the day after.

I don’t know if it’s old age but my hangovers are just awful these days.

Training this week has gone very well. I am really noticing differences in my level of strength. My arms are toned, more so than they ever were before.

It’s a good feeling. I think it also helps keep you motivated when you can actually see the effect your hard work is having on your body.

And finally,

I got my logo this week. Designed by one of my best friends, Emma McConnell.

She did a fantastic job as you can see from the picture.

I wanted it to appeal to young people as Ewing’s primarily effects this age group.

I would love to hear your opinion on it so feel free to drop me a line.

Have a great weekend:)
