DONEGAL will escape the worst of today’s weather – as a Yellow Alert was issued for the county.
However many other counties have been issued with an Orange Alert, with higher winds.
Winds gusting up to 100km/hr will hit Donegal overnight tonight however.
This has the potential to knock out power lines.
The alerts are expected to continue for several days with a further storm on the way on Tuesday, says Met Eireann.
The worst of the weather has been in the south and west of the country, however there has been damage to some coastal areas in Donegal – with a road in Malin torn away by stones brought in on the high tide.
