Finn Harps were impressive in Galway over the weekend despite failing to win either of their matches against Westport United and Cork City.
Harps used a number of different players for both matches but Ollie Horgan will be impressed with the levels of performance from his players in both games.
On Saturday Harps controlled the match against Westport and played some excellent intricate football at times.
They had the majority of possession throughout the game but failed to break down a well organised Westport defence.
The game ended 0-0 and featured new signing Carol Tiofack and trialist Graham Fisher formerly on the books of Schalke 04 as a trainee.
On Sunday Harps faced Premier Division side Cork City who were captained by Ballybofey native Johnny Dunleavy.
Harps went 1-0 down after twenty minutes and lost Damien McNulty and Keith Cowan to injury.
The latter receiving ten stitches following a nasty clash of heads.
Harps regrouped and drew level following a great move that was finished off excellently by Michael Funston.
Harps went 2-1 up early in the second half when Danny Murphy handled on the line from a Michael Funston effort.
Kevin McHugh dispatched the subsequent penalty and then Packie Mailey extended Harps lead scoring a header from a set piece.
Cork hit back to level with two late strikes from Michael Rafter to leave the game 3-3.
It was an excellent performance from Harps and new manager Ollie Horgan will no doubt be impressed at what he saw.
There was more good news for Finn Harps with the announcement that three of the club’s U19 stars Darragh Black, Chris Flanagan and Joe McIntyre have all been called into the Ireland U18 international home based squad.
