A woman who injured her ankle after her foot caught on an uneven footpath as she left a Donegal shopping centre has been awarded €45,000 in damages.

Ms Justice Bronagh O’Hanlon said carer Helen Flynn suffered a severe injury to her ankle after the fall at Letterkenny Shopping Centre.
The High Court heard she was in plaster for six weeks as a result of the accident.
Ms Flynn (51), Rannyhill, Gortnavern, Kerrykeel, had sued Harcourt Developments Ltd, owner of Letterkenny Shopping Centre, as a result of the accident on July 7th, 2009.
She claimed she was caused to trip and fall in a hole on a broken footpath near the entrance to the shopping centre. There was a failure to cordon off the area where the footpath had been damaged, she claimed.
Harcourt Developments had denied liability.
Making the award, Ms Justice O’Hanlon said Ms Flynn was a credible person who had established her case in negligence.
