Leitir native Shaun McShane makes his professional debut in Boxing at the ripe age of 33 this Saturday night in Glasgow.
McShane was a supremely talented amateur boxer in his youth and was offered the opportunity to turn professional then but he opted not to at the time.
Now McShane is aiming to turn back the clock when he squares off against Ryan Love at the Ravenscraig Sports Facility, Glasgow.
The Donegal man has been based in Glasgow for the last couple of years and is eager to get in the ring and prove he has the ability to perform at a professional level.
“I appreciate I’m a bit later than most to turn professional, but I’ve kept myself in good shape and have good experience in the amateurs.
“I had the offer when I was younger to turn professional, but it didn’t feel like it was the right time due to work commitments.
McShane is in buoyant and confident mood but isn’t making any predictions ahead of his debut bout.
“I don’t make predictions on fights.
“You never know on the night.
“All I can say is if someone is going to try beat me they better be ready as I am coming for a fight.
