Donegal soccer star Seamus Coleman is favourite to collect the FAI Player of the Year Award.
The Killybegs man was last night nominated among the final three players alongside goalkeeper David Forde and veteran striker Robbie Keane.
Social media has seen a huge sway in the direction of the Everton right-back as being the popular choice.
The former St Catherines and Sligo Rovers player has cemented his place in the Irish squad and has been on fire for his club.
The awards will take place on Sunday 2 March, and will be broadcast live on RTÉ Two at 8.30pm.
There is plenty of other local interest in the 24th awards with Ciaran Clark, James McCarthy and James McClean being chosen as candidates for the Young International Player of the Year.
