clodagh1WHAT a star this girl Clodagh Barry really is.

Whilst most of us spent Friday indoors sheltering from the dreadful weather, the Newtowncunningham teenager was completing day one of her two-day journey on horseback from Arranmore Island to Malin Head.

The event is to raise funds for Donegal Downs Syndrome Association.

Clodagh’s route started on the Island – and she hopes to complete it on Saturday.

All sponsorship for this uniquely Donegal event would be greatly appreciated and if you or your business would like to donate, you can contact Liam Barry at 0872634301.

You can also donate to this event at idonate.ie or directly to the Donegal Downs Syndrome Association at Convent Road, Letterkenny

The pictures (courtesy of Joseph Brennan) show the pony express taking on Duffy’s wheeled express outside Dungloe this afternoon and the long lonely road to the Corkscrew and down into Doochary where a pony change awaited. Plus a welcome from local revellers in Teach Gleann Ceo. Perhaps the most stunning, and wettest, leg of the journey then faced Clodagh, taking her up the long, lonely road to Loch Barra and by the Glenveagh National Park. By the time she arrived in Churchill it appeared the pony had an idea where to go…..but Clodagh had other ideas! Good luck Clodagh!
