KILDARE are ahead of Donegal at half-time in the Allianz National League Division One clash at Croke Park this evening.
The Lilywhites are 1-07 to 0-05 ahead at the break.
Donegal opened the scoring with a free from their captain, Michael Murphy.
Paddy McBrearty pointed Donegal’s first score from play, before Michael Murphy sent over his second free of the game, this time from a little further out. Donegal, though, then suffered a blow with Colm McFadden forced off with an injury and he was replaced by Dermot Molloy.
But the three point lead wasn’t to last.
In the 12th minute Johnny Doyle got the Lilywhites off the mark, followed by a goal from Tomas O’Connor. A Mikey Conway free came back off a post and O’Connor was first to react, fisting the ball to the back of Donegal goalkeeper Paul Durcan’s net.
Johnny Doyle’s free after 23 minutes meant Kildare has scored 1-03 without reply.
Another Johnny Doyle point and one from Brian Flanagan with the scores for Kildare, with a Michael Murphy effort in between. Then another classy score from Pádraig O’Neill followed by Murphy again left the score 1-07 to 0-05 at the break.
