The Club Dinner Dance was held last Saturday night in Caísleain Óir Annagry with a large attendance. Awards on the night were as follows: Senior Player of the Year – Brian Gillespie, Young Senior Player of the Year – Shaun ‘Yank’ Boyle, Reserve Player of the Year – Hugh Martin, Young Reserve Player of the Year – Shane Greene. Clubperson of the Year – Charles Doogan. Hall of Fame – Jimmy Doherty. County Recognition – Adi O’Gara. Special Recognition – Thomas Duffy.
Under-age training times: Under 6 training takes place every Saturday morning at 11.15am in the Aislann for players born in 2007 and 2008. Under 8s training takes place every Saturday morning from 10am to 11am in the Aislann for players born in 2005 and 2006. Under 10 training will begin this Saturday from 12pm to 1pm at the gym in the Rosses Community School. All players born in 2003 and 2004 should attend. Under 12s training continues on Thursday evenings from 6pm to 7pm in the RCS for players born in 2001 and 2002. Peil na mBan; Comhghairdeas dó Caroline Sharkey, Erika Hanna and Jade O’Donnell who have been selected for the country minor and county ladies panels. We start our Club development camp on Tues 5th Feb in the Sporthall at the RCS from 5-6pm. We will run it on a ten week format of football skills and fitness at this level to link into our club plan of a continuous line of players from u12 to adult for the future of our club. This squad training will cater for girls from 9-13 years and will link into teams for u12, u13 and u14 girls teams for the coming season. Peil na mBan received the special merits achievement award at the Club Dinner dance and annual awards night held in Caislean Óir. Fitting recognition for the committee, parents and players of Peil na mBan who strive to promote ladies football and the One Club Initiative within fo-chumann Naomh mhuire.
Mouthguards – please note this is a requirement for all now for training and games as passed by GAA headquarters. This is a requirement for all senior and underage players. The Bord na nÓg request all parents to purchase the mouthguards which are available locally in any sport shop. No mouthguard – no training or playing.
