The first meetings of the Renewable Energy Business Network in Donegal will take place on Monday 11 Feb at 6pm in the Mount Errigal Hotel, Letterkenny and on Tuesday 12 February at 6pm in Mill Park Hotel, Donegal Town.
Joanne Holmes Project Officer of the Ren Net project which is based in Donegal County Council said the network meetings will be a great opportunity for businesses and individuals that are involved in or who wish to get involved in the green economy or renewable energy sector.
“Members will meet regularly and identify new opportunities for the green economy and renewable energy sector, receive expert advice, training and support for their business with the aim of increasing its profitability.
“The project will run until February 2015 allowing time to build a strong and successful network of green enterprises in the region. Local networks will also meet on a regional basis throughout the project lifetime and there will be a number of international best practice visits”.
The Renewable Energy Business Network should be of interest to small or micro businesses (employing less than 50 people) or individuals engaged in renewable energy or the green economy or those wishing to get involved in this growing sector.
It should also be of interest to farmers who are interested in diversifying into renewable energy e.g. growing energy crops and to those involved in the construction industry, contractors, plumbers, electricians, architects etc looking to gain insight into how the green industry will develop and how they can compete.
The Renewable Energy Business Network Project (Ren Net) is funded by the European Union’s INTERREG IVA Programme.
