John Curran has called on the DCC to address traffic issues in Gortahork.

Curran is proposing that measures similar to that in Kilmacrennan be installed in the village, with traffic calming a priority from the ETB Sean Tech building as far as the Óstán an Bear Mór.

Curran stated that he was highlighting this issue as a matter of priority for the Council and will work on this issue on behalf of the community.

Curran said, “We have school children on a blind corner and it is simply a matter of time before this busy stretch of road claims another life.

A number of parents and business owners have approached Curran to raise the issue with one stating that “It is vital that people feel secure entering and exiting, the Panccarpark and the area around McClaffetys EuroSpar.

Curran who has recently called for increased street lighting from Bunaline to The Filling Station Takeaway is concerned that no regard is being taken of issues that have been consistently raised by the public since 1999.
