As we enter into the last two rounds of the Senior Football Championships before we learn our final eight, we had a look at what can happen this week to see teams qualify and get knocked out.
The top four can clinch quarter-final spots and all four have home advantage this weekend, while the bottom five must win to stay in the race.
Kilcar entertain Ardara in Towney, St.Eunans host Cloughaneely, Gweedore welcome MacCumhaills , and Aodh Rua host St.Nauls.
Kilcar and defending champions St.Eunans will be expected to be too strong for Ardara and Cloughaneely respectively, while with home advantage Aodh Rua can build on their opening two wins by overcoming St.Nauls.
After earning a draw in their opening game at The Bridge against St.Michaels and then beating Four Masters, MacCumhaills will provide Gweedore with an interesting challenge on Sunday.
Trevor Alcorn’s men just squeezed past Glenfin last weekend and will need to be at their best to beat a fast improving Twin Towns team, with Oisin Gallen back in their ranks.
Glenfin make the short journey to face Glenswilly knowing a third defeat will end their consistent appearances in the quarter-finals.
Both their defeats against Killybegs and Gweedore have been narrow ones , and could have ended in their favour, so Glenswilly will be wise not to take anything for granted.
Meanwhile for Glenswilly, a draw with Naomh Conaill and an away win over St.Naul’s has them in good shape and another win for them would be a big step towards the top eight.
Killybegs and Four Masters welcome Milford and Bundoran respectively and victories would keep them on the hunt for top eight spots.
Naomh Conaill travel to take on St.Michaels, with both on three points, and will need to bring their best game with them.
The Bridge men drew their last home game against MacCumhaills but were impressive in accounting for Milford last week.
After their draw in Glenswilly, the Glenties men showed signs of the best form in the second-half against Killybegs last week.
A win here for either team would be a big result and a big step to the top eight.
Although there’s another round of fixtures still to come, this weekend could spell the end for a numbers of teams’ hope of making the top eight unless they win.
