JUST four members of Donegal’s All-Ireland winning team have been named in the Ulster squad for the forthcoming Football Interprovincial series – Tyrone have eight representatives.
Michael Murphy, Neil McGee, Eamon McGee and Mark McHugh (pictured) have all been chosen by manager Joe Kernan, who will tomorrow name his side to face Munster.
The semi-final clash will take place at the Athletic Grounds, Armagh on Sunday. The final will be staged a week later.
Kernan has named an initial 26-strong squad, with Monaghan’s Darren Hughes chosen as captain.
“Players love playing in this competition, it is an honour to wear the Ulster jersey and a great experience for any player,” said former Armagh boss Kernan.
“Not everyone, and not every team, can win an All-Ireland title but this competition provides an opportunity for the best players across all Ulster counties to play together and to play against the rest of Ireland.
“That is something really special and it is a competition we should cherish.
“Ulster are 100% behind this competition, and we’re in it to win it – to bring back the third consecutive Inter Provincial Cup to Ulster.”
