The Ballyshannon Youth reach programme offers a holistic approach to learning, embracing a broad, balanced curriculum with an emphasis on achieving accreditation, while ensuring learners are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning and to become independent thinkers.
The mission statement is clear in its objectives; Ballyshannon Youthreach is an early school leavers programme that offers a balanced education between accredited training and lifeskills. Youthreach learners are supported and guided towards reaching their full potential in a safe, supportive environment.Over the years Youthreach has helped numerous learners achieve their goals.
On Thursday 27th November, the celebrations began when Ballyshannon Youthreach held their Presentation of Awards and Craft Fair in the Lakeside Centre in Ballyshannon, with proceeds from the fair going to the RNLI in Bundoran.
All produce on sale was handcrafted by the Youthreach learners themselves and ranged from wooden crafts to homemade carrot cake.
Ballyshannon Youthreach would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that attended the day and supported the very worthy local cause.
Also on the day, learners received awards for their hard work for various FETAC modules at both Level 3 and Level 4. Modules included Communications, IT, Personal & Interpersonal Skills, Maths, Woodwork, Art & Drawing to name but a few.
On top of all the FETAC awards that were presented on the day were GAISCE bronze pins. Michael Collins from GAISCE was there to present the learners with their pins. Another great achievement for the learners of Ballyshannon Youthreach!
There were a few speakers, who also need to be thanked for their participation (thank you!) who spoke about their experiences of Ballyshannon Youthreach. We heard from family members, past learners and from organisations that Youthreach deal with on a regular basis. Their input into the day helped to make it extra special for everyone.
