A Letterkenny woman was arrested when she called a Garda a “fat cow” when he called to her home looking to speak with a relative.
Letterkenny District Court heard the Nora Johnston had a problem with alcohol and had not touched a drop since Christmas.
However, on July 26th last Gardai called to her home at Gleann Rua.
The 46 year old mum-of-two grown-up children became agitated and refused to calm down when asked.
She was arrested after insulting Gardai but later apolgised to officers.
Her solicitor Patsy Gallagher told the court she was a different woman when she didn’t have drink on her.
Judge Paul Kelly fined Ms Johnston €150 for a breach of the Public Order Act and warned her that she was “getting close to the end of the leniency stakes.”
