Planning permission has been granted for a new all-weather football pitch at Scoil Náisiúnta Muire gan Smál in Lifford.
The new pitch will have fencing, lighting and all associated siteworks.
The school’s board of management was granted permission for the development by Donegal County Council subject to five conditions. The applicant has been ordered to ensure the safeguarding of the River Finn SAC by taking steps to ensure no surface water from the site discharges to the public road and that no public road water is discharged onto the site.
To cater for orderly development and in the interests of residential amenity, the lights of the pitch must be hooded and aligned so as to prevent spillage of light onto the public road and adjoining residential area. The use of lighting shall be restricted to 10pm only.
