Concern has been raised after a dog was found roaming loose in a field after possibly giving birth to a litter of pups.
The brown boxer-type dog was spotted in fields in the Burt area in recent days.
There is now concern over the welfare of the dog and the pups.
The Northwest Vets posted a message on their Facebook page alerting the public to the situation.
The vet practice said “If anyone is missing their dog, there has been a brown boxer dog sighted in a field in the Burt area.
“The dog has been here for the past couple of days. She has a few lovely pups hidden in the ditch. She is a very well looked after dog possibly someone has lost her.
“She seems to be hiding/protecting her wee puppies.”
