A Ballyshannon musician’s video has been short-listed among some of the world’s biggest bands in a prestigious European Film Festival event for Best Music Video.
The name Sigur Ros will trip off the tongue of most music fans.
But when their video features a certain Irish actor by the name of Aiden Gillen, the achievement of the Donegal musician who goes under the name of ‘SnowPlaceLikeHome’ becomes all the more evident.
The man behind ‘SnowPlaceLikeHome’ is Keith Mannion from Knather Wood, Ballyshannon whose slices of electric pop have had music fans ordering starters, main courses and deserts by the menu-full of late.

Keith’s music has featured on several prominent compilations and he has been interviewed by radio stations, from Phantom FM in Dublin, to BBC Radio Ulster and national BBC Radio 6 music.

It was first shown on John Kelly’s arts show ‘The Works’ on RTE One, broadcast Thursday, 18th October 2012. (link here: http://www.rte.ie/tv/theworks/thisweek18102012.html)
It was directed by Jules Hackett. Both song and video was completely D.I.Y. (budget of €80) and with no PR or distribution, it makes this nomination even more incredible.
