Two local communities came together this afternoon to raise vital funds for young Cassie Sheridan.

Staff from Scoil Mhuire Creeslough were behind the fundraiser, which saw a 11.5km bed push from Carrigart to Creeslough take place earlier today to raise money for her treatment.

Everyone involved was in good spirits as they took on the challenge – with large crowds coming out to greet them upon their arrival to the finish line in Creeslough.

In 2022, Cassie was diagnosed with anaplastic large cell lymphoma – which now requires specialist treatment not available currently in Ireland.

The next stage of her treatment involves travelling to the Princess Maxima Centre in Holland to undergo a bone marrow transplant, with her older brother Michael as her donor. The surgery will then require six months of medical care and recovery in the Netherlands.

The Bed Push has raised well over €22,000 at the time of writing, with donations still coming in thick and fast to help Cassie on the road to recovery – and that’s without having tallied all of the money collected in-person for her today as well.

You can still donate to the Cassie’s Bed Push fundraiser via iDonate here.
