Gardaí are advising motorists of road closures and diversions as thousands descend on Letterkenny for this morning’s charity North West 10K.
The fundraising walk and run has a start time of 11am and takes in a route around the town.
Restrictions will remain in place until around 2pm.
“Traffic restrictions and road closures will be in place,” a garda spokesperson said.
“Motorists are requested to comply with directions given by Gardaí and stewards to ensure the safety of all participants.”
Roads to be closed:
- Pearse Road from Rosemount Lane to Station Roundabout entire duration of time
Controlled by Stop and Go
- Canal Road one lane closed Left Side of one-way system
- Oliver Plunkett Street to Rosemount Lane one lane closed Left Side of one-way system
- Port Road inbound lane closed Left Lane (Inbound) Westbound
- N56 from Polestar Roundabout to Ballyraine Roundabout one lane closed Left Lane (Mount Errigal Hotel side) Northbound
- R940 Ramelton Road from Ballyraine Roundabout to Oatfield Roundabout one lane closed Left Lane Westbound
- Oatfield Roundabout to Station Roundabout R229 one lane closed Left Lane Westbound
- Port Road to Old Courthouse and Main Street are open but is subject to slow traffic during race Stop and Go Westbound
- Oliver Plunkett Street Left Lane Southbound
- Paddy Harte Roundabout to Currys on Neil T Blaney Road Left Lane Southbound
- The remainder of Neil T Blaney Road is not affected as runners are on the cycle Lane and footpath.

- Main Street
o High Road to New Line Road onto College Road to Convent Road
