Donegal assistant manager Rory Gallagher has said that Donegal will not be holding back when they meet Tyrone on Sunday in the National League at Healy Park in Omagh.     rory gallagher

The Match is ultimately a dress rehearsal for the massive Ulster championship clash between the pair on May 26th in Ballybofey.

Many pundits feel both managers will be keeping their cards close to their chests and will want to give nothing away ahead of their championship clash later on in the summer.

However Gallagher speaking to the Irish News earlier in the week insisted that Donegal will not be holding back come Sunday.

” I can’t see either team going into the game holding back to be honest. People may describe it as shadow boxing as there is a much more important game down the line, but I would imagine that both teams will be going hell for leather come Sunday”

“This will be a very strong test for us playing Tyrone away from home and we will be fielding the strongest team we have available to us. We are looking to get safe that is our No 1 aim at the minute.”

The fixture is the standout game in the 3rd round of this weekends National league fixtures and many will be watching with interest. One thing is for sure if Donegal do defeat Tyrone this weekend in there own backyard it would provide a big psychological boost to Jim McGuinness and his players ahead of the championship clash between the pair in May.
