Mary Rodgers at Arlands BurtonportSt Patricks day – Burtonport.

Preparations are currently well under way for the “ St Patricks day Celebration of Irish culture” which will be held for the 8th year running at St Columba’s Community Centre, Burtonport between 12 and 2. Once again we have traditional music, Irish dancing, singing, local marching bands, our gigantic pot of Irish stew and lots more traditional fair on offer. Entry on the day is completely free but for those of you who can spare a few euro we will have many ways to temp you to spend/donate it. All monies collected on the day will as usual be divided equally between the lifeboat and the Burtonport festival. The committee would like to thank everyone who has donated prizes so far and are encouraging anyone else that has a prize that they are willing to donate to do so ASAP by ringing – 0863836546 so that they can allocate prizes to the various games. Thank you.

 

The Irish Duck Race

As part of the St Patricks day celebrations the first “Irish Duck Race” will be held on St Patrick’s day in Meenbannad. Give your duck an Irish name and see how fast it can make its way to the finish line which will be under the bridge near Paddy Neilleys Pub in Meenbannad. Ducks are €5 each and are on sale at some local shops and post offices. Alternatively contact Donna at the Cope in Annagry or by phoning 0860730517 to purchase a duck. Only 100 ducks in the race with prize money totalling €300. All proceeds from The Irish Duck Race will be shared between lifeboat and Burtonport festival.

 

Fun Family walk for St Patricks weekend – “Discover The Leprechauns Secret”

If you would like to find out where the local Burtonport Leprechauns are hiding their crock of gold and be in with a chance of winning it as a prize, then come along to “The Old Railway Walk” in Burtonport anytime between 10 o clock on Friday 15th and 6 o clock Monday 18th March. Local leprechauns will be out and about with clues which will reveal the crocks secret location. Register for the walk by picking up an entry form with details from “The Check Out Service Station”, Burtonport. Cost is €5 per entry with all funds collected going towards developing “Playmatters” which is situated in the CDP, Dungloe.

 

 

“Eggstravaganza of Easter Fun”

An “Eggstravaganza of Easter Fun” for all the family on Thursday 28th March 12 – 2.

Come along and join us while we get ‘Eggcited’ about all things Easter. We will be decorating eggs, rolling eggs, racing eggs, hunting for eggs, cooking with eggs and may even decorate our bonnets with eggs. Its going to be so so so Eggciting.

Enterance on the day is €5 per child or €10 per family.

All proceeds will go towards the work of Playmatters. Playmatters is supported by The Rosses CDP and is based in the new CDP building (the old rubber factory), Chaple R.D, Dungloe. Come along and ‘Eggsperience’ the fun. Its going to be ‘Eggscelent.
