soccer-ballLagan Harps FC News: We had a busy week on the playing front with most of our teams in action. Pride of place goes to our u/16 girls team who travelled to Cong in Galway for a game in the National cup. They turned in a brilliant performance to come away with a 5-0 win. Scorers were Caoimhe Walsh(3), Aine Deasley and Ciana Brogan.

Our men’s team came back to earth when they were beaten 4-1 by Keadue Rovers in the league. Stephen O’Donnell scored our goal from the penalty spot.

Next Sunday they are away to Whitestrand Utd.

Our u/16′s lost 6-1 to a strong Drumkeen Utd side. Jack Duffy was the scorer. Our u/14′s turned in a solid team performance when they won 3-1 in Convoy, Keelan Collier(2) and Oisin Bonner were the scorers.

Our u/12′s had to withstand some strong second half pressure before coming away with a 2-1 win, away to Curragh Athletic. Caoimhin Wheeler and Mark Bonner were the scorers.

We had teams taking part in the u/10 and u/8 blitzes in Swilly Pk. Our u/10′s did particularly well with Faolain Gibson, Dylan Mc Ateer, Conor Bonner and Ryan Mc Gee among the scorers.

We had girls teams competing at u/11, u/13 and u/15 in the winter league. Among our scorers in those matches were Erin Doherty, Orla Doherty, Niamh Sweeney Sinead Sweeney, Shannon Cunningham, Holly Canning, Rihenna Devenney and Aine Mc Dermott.

In our weekly lotto the numbers drawn were 4,6,11 and 17. Three people had three numbers with Karol Mc Ginley drawn out and winning E50. On a sadder note the club wishes to extend sympathy to the Cullen family circle on the passing of Karen.
