Over 800 fantastic artworks were submitted by children from Donegal’s national schools into this year’s Finn Harps and Donegal Road Safety Art Competition.

The competition was created five years ago with the aim of increasing awareness in both children and adults around road safety issues and it has proved to be a huge success.

Finn Harps Schools Officer John Campbell said

”It is important that Finn Harps use our public profile to help create a safer environment in the county for our young people.

We had a great time looking through the huge amount of entries and there was much to admire.

The wonderful array of pictures we received not only shows the creative ability in our schools, it also underlines how our committed local teachers create an environment where children can express their talents” he said.

Frances Nichols, Donegal Road Safety Officer says “We believe it’s important to get the road safety message out to children at a young age.

This competition is a fun and enjoyable way to do that, so we are delighted that Finn Harps continue to be committed to road safety in Donegal”

The overall winner will be chosen from the five finalists below at the Finn Harps home match v Cobh Ramblers on Friday March 15th.
