DONEGAL LANDLORD HIT WITH €360K TAX BILL AS DEFAULTERS LIST PUBLISHED

revenueA CO Donegal landlord was hit with a massive €363,316 bill after an investigation by the Revenue, an official report said today.

Frank Coyle, 53 Carolina Park, Letterkenny, was forced to settle a €125k tax bill.

But he was also hit with a €143k bill for interest plus €94k in penalties, according to the Defaulters List for the last quarter of 2012.

In another case the owners of Johnstons Caravans Limited were also hit with a massive bill for the under-declaration of VAT.

Revenue said Johnstons under-declared VAT for €118,120. The Letterkenny company was hit with a €10k bill for interest and another €35k in penalties taking their total bill to €163,739.

M&P Developments, currently in liquidation and with an address at Ballymagan, Buncrana, was hit with a €363k bill which included €208k for non-payment of Corporation Tax, PAYE and PRSI.

Farmer Ivan Roulston, from Drumbarnett, Newtowncunningham, made a settlement of €37k for under-declaration of capital gains tax and income tax.

Another farmer, Patrick Sweeney from Gortmacall, Milford, made a settlement for just over €40k for under-declaring income tax.

Meanwhile Kevin Bradley, owner of Highland Bakery, was fined €1,250 for failing to file a tax return.
