SNOW has started falling across many parts of Co Donegal, particularly the north and west of the county.
Accompanied by a bitterly cold north east wind, the snow could continue overnight and into tomorrow.
Forecasters say up to 5cms of the white stuff could fall on higher ground over the next 48 hours.
Met Eireann has issued a Yellow Warning for snow and ice through until noon tomorrow.
“It will be bitterly cold,” said a spokesman.
“It is expected to remain very cold for the rest of the week.”

Snow showers expected overnight and on Tuesday morning over Ulster, northern and eastern parts of Leinster and north Connacht. Moderate accumulations on high ground but smaller amounts at lower levels.
