Four Masters Cyclling Club will take to the roads of Donegal this coming Sunday to raise funds for The North West Blood Bike, a Volunteer Bike Service providing a free out of hours service to the HSE in the North West of Ireland, based in Co Donegal.
Their aim is to provide an out of hours FREE service to the HSE in the west. They will transport Urgently needed Blood, Blood Products, Drugs, Human Tissue, Breast Milk and any other medical requirments that can be safely carried via Motorbike, between hospitals, clinics and blood transfusion banks.
Operation hours are 7pm to 7am Monday to Thursday and from 7pm on Friday to 7am on Monday.
Currently this service is carried out by use of hiring taxis at a huge expense, in an already underfunded area.
By providing their free service they hope to relieve some of the pressure on the HSE so that those funds can be put to a better use.
All their riders will be RoSPA trained and Garda Vetted.
Four Masters Cycling Club would like to get behind this great imitative and raise some money to help fund this venture. With this in mind they are running a charity cycle on Sunday 24th March from the Aura Centre in Letterkenny. All profits from this cycle will go directly to North West Blood Bikes.
Sign on will open at the Aura in Letterkenny from 8.30am with the event leaving at 9.30am. Please remember this is not a race. Min entry fee for CI members is €10.00 or €12.00 for non members.
The route for this event is Meenaroy, Fintown, Doochary, Gartan, Churchill and back to the Aura in Letterkenny where showers and light refreshments will be served.
Due to the hilly nature of this course the pace will only be controlled as far as Breenagh, Hope to see you all there for this worthy cause
