A Donegal dancer who is part of an up-and-coming group which appeared on SKY television has appeared in court on dangerous driving charges.
Vincent ‘Vinny’ McLaughlin, 22, is part of dance outfit Static Movement who are considered one of the best dance groups in Ireland and the UK.
The group recently got rave reviews when they appeared on SKY television’s Got To Dance show.
McLaughlin appeared at Letterkenny District Court on driving charges.
The court heard the dancer was driving a car which was recorded on CCTV doing two handbrake turns at Pearse Road on August 28th last at 4.30am.
McLaughlin’s solicitor Lisa Finnegan said he could not explain why he carried out such manoeuvres and that he was extremely nervous coming to court.
He initially skidded on water and then went back and was pictured doing two handbrake turns.
He was accompanied to court by his mother.
Solicitor Finnegan said McLaughlin is part of the well-known dance group and they had recently performed a fundraiser for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Judge Paul Kelly said McLaughlin had engaged in a highly dangerous activity in what appeared to be a moment of madness.
He fined McLauglin €150 and warned him to watch himself in future.
