NORTHWEST GARDEN SHOW 2015: This year we welcome all our Visitors and Exhibitors to the sixth annual Northwest Garden Show, if you have been before or visiting for the first time we have something for everyone.
New for this year is our new Garden “The Beer Garden” (with no beer) here we have teamed up with GB Landscapes Castlederg to design a garden that could so easily be your back garden, described as “A haven to relax and enjoy the sounds and sights of nature” full of colourful planted areas, seating, decking, and paved walkways and using the beautiful Donegal stone walls of the Whitehouse Garden.
Sheep to Chic is new for 2015; here you can experience the skill and crafts of some of Ireland’s top Sheep shearers, wool-spinners and woolcrafters.
All our exhibiting garden centres will be on hand to give advice and tips on how to make the most your outdoor space, no space too small or too large for our experts.
Flower demonstrating is an art of its own so this year we have a treat for all flower lovers as you can watch Geraldine Gibbons create a fantastic garden with her live flower arranging demonstrations on Saturday, (this is not to be missed).
Then on Sunday you will be treated to another masterclass of live flower arranging with the renowned John Paul, Florist/millinery Derry
Cooking and healthy living from our own gardens is what our LIVE COOKING THEATRE is about with RTE’s Brian Mc Dermot the no salt chef demonstrating how to cook healthy tasty food from our own gardens with no salt.
This year Brian is joined by a host of TV and local chef’s.
Recycling from garbage our Trash “N” Fashion theme sees the fantastic creations of wearable fashion garments made from waste materials by TY students from around the country go head to head on our fashion cat walk.
New for 2015 is our Golf Simulator, test yourself on the world’s best golf courses, longest drive and nearest the pin competitions all weekend you might even bump into the “main man Michael” as Donegal captain Michael Murphy will join us on Saturday.
We don’t forget the kids as we have the biggest bouncing castle in Ireland for them to enjoy or maybe just getting their face painted as mum and dad go and plan their garden, get their flowers, dinner, outfit or have a game of golf knowing the little gardeners are safe and sound in our fun zone.
Entry €8 for adults, OAP and Students €5, kids go free.
