THIS is Hope, the only survivor of a litter of kittens – and proof as if it were needed that owners must spay or neuter their animals.
“A lovely lady rescued a stray cat in Buncrana who had given birth to five kittens at the weekend,” explained a spokesman for Donegal Pet Rescue.
“Sadly one died before we met up with her, two died on the journey, and one had to put to sleep at the vets as he was brain dead. There is one left, we called her Hope.
“The mother had no milk, and the vets think the kittens were possibly inbred.
“It’s the start of the kitten season, and if you own a cat, male or female, please spay and neuter.”
Hope is being raised by Goldie another mother – and is being hand-fed.
