A Lifford woman who assaulted another woman at a nightclub in Ballybofey has been ordered to pay €100 to charity.
Jacqueline Herron, 25, was found guilty of attacking Charlene Duffy.
Ms Duffy complained to Gardai that she had a swollen upper lip as a result of the incident.
Solcitor for the accused, Donagh Cleary told Letterkenny District Court that there had been an incident the previous week which had resulted in a bad feeling between the young women.
He said CCTV footage showed his client had been verbally abused by Ms Duffy and that Ms Duffy had received one blow.
He said his client was a mother of two young children who was on a full-time FAS business course.
Judge Paul Kelly fined Ms Herron €100 and ordered that it be paid to Planet Youth in Ballybofey.
