Looking good ladies! Sam gets star treatment
THOUSANDS of runners and walkers are taking part in today’s North West 10k in Letterkenny – and even Sam Maguire has put in an appearance.
The prestigious event, sponsored this year by Brian McCormick Sports and Donegal Daily, will have more than 3,000 entrants.
Many do it for times – most are doing it for fun and helping to raise much needed funds for charity.
Mayor Frank McBrearty is there to see off the runners.
“This is a wonderful advertisement for the spirit of the people of Donegal,” he said.
The charities SNAP, Donegal Mountain Rescue and Friends of Letterkenny Hospital all benefit from proceeds from the race which is jointly organised every year by Finn Valley AC and Letterkenny AC.
