Beidh Féile na Finne ar siúl deireadh seachtaine na Cincise agus is í seo an triú Féile bliantiúl don choiste seo.  train

Is é an tAthair Aodh Mac Suibhne, sagart paróiste Ghleann t-Suili, atá ag oscailt an fhéile go h-oifigiúil i mbliana.

Bhí an t-Athair Mac Suibhne ina shagart cúnta i mBaile na Finne agus ba é a thóg an Teach Phobail galánta atá ag ceiliriú 25 bliain a bhunaithe i mí na Nollag i mbliana.

Tá clár imeachtaí do shean agus óg a eagrú agus anois is aimsir mhaith an rud is tábhachtai duinn leis an ócáid a chur i gcrith. Is fíor a rá gur ceanntár álainn í an Ghealtacht Láir go hiomlán. Idir cnoic agus gleannta, locha agus aoibhneacha, níl a shárú le fáil.

Tá an coiste fíor bhuíoch do áchán nduine a bhéir tacaíocht dóibh agus tá siad ag dréim go dtiocfaidh beag agus mór amach agus sult a bhaint as an deireadh seachtaine.

Fintown Festival : 31st May – 3rd June

The 2013 Fintown Festival runs from 31st May-3rd June. This is the third annual Festival for this hardworking committee and we hope that the good weather will allow everyone to enjoy the various events and relax in this scenic area.  5235538672_857f513fdb_z

The official opening on Friday night in the Noble Bar will be performed by Fr Hugh Sweeney PP Glenswilly. Fr Sweeney was a former curate in the area and was instrumental in the building of a lovely new church which is celebrating its 25th Anniversary in December.

This year’s programme includes the 40k & 60k leisure cycle in association with Tír Chonaill GAP CC and the 2nd Annual Gaeltacht Lár 5k on the Saturday.

Saturday night will see a fireworks display on the banks of Loch Finn at 11pm and music in the Railway Inn with Keltic Knights.

Sunday is Family Fun Day and will start with the Hills & Glens Honda Run, Vintage Tractor Run and Rally Car Display in aid of the Letterkenny–Galway Cancer Bus, plus Vintage Cars and live music by Keltic Kaos, with Bouncing Castles, facepainting and amusements for children.

The Lord Mayor crowning dance, with music by Bite the Dust, is in Teach Jimmy at 10pm.

On Monday, at 3pm, we have a Road Bowls competition starting at Maxwell’s shop. There will be a Courtesy Bus available until 12pm each night.
